McKinley Children's Center hosts National Night Out 2018


On Tuesday, August 7, 2018, McKinley Children's Center hosted National Night Out for local residents in the city of San Dimas. 


Hundreds of residents across the the city of San Dimas celebrated community-togetherness and the importance of first responders at McKinley Children's Center's 2018 National Night Out event.

The event, which took place from 6 to 9:30 PM, featured free food, carnival style games, live music, bouncers, a video game truck, and a petting zoo. Around sundown, visitors were also invited to watch the movie Coco under the stars. Local businesses from across the area also attended and sold goods and provided information at "Vendor Row."

Just after 7 PM, first responders paraded to the event and visited with event visitors. Participants included Baldwin Park California Highway Patrol, the San Dimas Sheriff Department, the San Dimas Reserve Deputies, the San Dimas Mountain Rescue Team, the San Dimas station volunteers, the San Dimas Station Explorers, the San Dimas Communications Services, and the US Forestry Service and crew.  

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
